Abstract:

State-mandated ratepayer-funded energy efficiency programs are one of the primary mechanisms for promoting energy efficiency retrofits. In this project Drexel is working with collaborators at the EEB HUB to identify effective components of such programs, such as demonstrations, targeted incentives and information campaigns, etc., that can be used to more effectively promote energy efficiency. Drexel will conduct building energy simulation modeling to assess the effectiveness of different energy conservation measures and will survey market participants to identify the extent of participation expected for different types of programs. By comparing both the modeling and survey results we will be able to identify which measures have potential but require support from utility programs.
